Class that starts Monday (5/19) has at least one 747 new hire in it.

Welcome folks! I'll be playing 'You Bet Your Job' in my annual PC simulator the last week of May so perhaps we'll cross paths around the grill.

I haven't heard anything recently, what's the latest on AQP?

Yep sure did. Just got an email back around the Feb class time and it said that they didn't have a class for me this time round but I am still in the pool. There should be a time limit for swimming, but its not like i would want to have to go through the whole interview process again either. They just need a system that doesn't leave people hanging.
The pool was flushed in 2008/2009, but that was when they stopped hiring completely for about two years. Since then the longest guys have been in the pool has been about 1 year. The longer it goes, the more guys drop out of the pool as they've gotten other jobs. I think with the pilot hiring situation the pool times will be reduced as we go forward.

Now if Atlas would just call me to set up an interview... I'm fairly confident that I can get myself in the pool.

Not sure. The company line seems to be that the New York FSDO are dragging their heels. As always, there may be more to the story. I do know that at my previous airline it wasn't this big of a thrash to get AQP up and running.

To contribute to the survey, I interviewed last week, 5-19 class, 747.
