Someone please correct me if I’m wrong - But in the early 60s United was paying Pilots commercial ratings with a guaranteed job once you passed. A friend of mines dad was one of those - hired in 1963 and retired off the whale in 2000. My airline an ULCC - considered a Major on APC is hiring Purdue grads with the restricted ATP - I believe we have 5 or so now.
Granted they do have 1000 ish hours vs the 250 hour guys in 1963.

I can’t believe you haven’t been recruited already...it seems like you, a rank amateur with 0 experience would be a much better candidate than someone flying RJs for thousands of hours in and out of the same airports Thea Majors fly to.
What do you believe you offer to a potential employer that experienced pilots don’t?

If I'm not mistaken, he literally just asked a question. He's clearly not an industry insider and instead of just answering the question, you and everyone else here are assuming he's "entitled" based off of basically nothing at all. Hopefully this thread devolves into yet another baby boomer circle jerk over millennials - thanks for doing your part

Why are you guys so rude and condescending? Are you really that insecure? He/she just asked a question! And in a lot of countries pilots do get hired directly by the airlines.
