Yes it is legal to log it as PIC.
For example, both SWA and Fedex specifically write that they want PIC not as sole manipulator of controls but as the one commander who signs off on the paperwork for the flight.

Are you saying if one has a PIC type on the A320, he can log PIC as sole manipulator for the legs he flies? And obviously not as PIC as far as the airlines are concerned? That sounds fishy.

I get that majors prefer 121 Jet PIC time, so where does 1000 hours PIC time in a King Air (200/90) in a part 91 operation stack up? Is it put above, side-by-side, or below a regional F.O with no turbine PIC? In theory, lets assume all the variables are same.

But the important variables actually DO include 121, glass, and jet, so our hypothetical "equal" king air guy would need to have already done time as a regional FO for the variables to be equal.
If your career is all 91, with king air PIC the biggest and most complex you are missing a whole bunch of check boxes. IMO this would all come down to internal connections...if you have good ones, you're in. If you don't, you will not be competitive off the street, probably even less competitive than a regional FO.
Someone will be along shortly to talk about how they pulled it off, but they'll probably forget to mention their Uncle Joe (the DAL regional CP). Yes, it can be done but the odds are not good. There are no absolute answers in aviation hiring but we can make a good ballpark guess at the odds.

Remember, the resume gets you the interview, the interview makes or breaks the possibility of a job offer. They don't hire resumes, they hire people. There are loads of furloughed 121 guys trying to find jobs, but lack TPIC having gotten hired without it. Any PIC, especially TPIC is valued.
