Default Posting Resume?

Does anyone know the best way to copy and paste a resume into the text box that so many companies require? My resume is a word doc and has some formatting (tables etc) it always gets totally messed up when I copy it into the text box on the website. It would be a real hassle to reformat it after every copy and paste job.

They should just let you upload the file...

Word can make some swell looking documents, but the formatting markup doesn't play nice with web text uploads (as you've found out).

Best bet is make a text version of your resume with the only formatting being line breaks. It won't look as nice as your MS Word version, although it will look tons better than trying to copy and paste the Word to the web!

Here's a quick tutorial: http://airlinepilotcentral.com/resou...006052458.html

Yea I found the word hard to use. However if you have a gmail account you can use their services. They have a word, spreadsheet ect.

Dont drive yourself crazy. Most HR folks know that this happens when copying a resume to the web app. Just be sure its easy to read and understand.

Here are some samples that are ready for you to just edit in your own info. You want one page with and easy flow. You dont want another person having to search around for the basics....

Good Luck

If the company only wants a resume posted should you also post a cover letter as well?
