What I would recommend for any pilot coming from ME3 or from overseas in general is to do a very thorough check of your application and then perhaps pay an agency to look it over. These days, it's a computer picking people... all this hogwash about "stick and rudder skills" is just that - hog wash.
One thing is for sure - I'm willing to bet some serious beers that ME3 pilot stories (or expat stories for that matter) are far more interesting than the same old US regional airline pilot stories.

I think you are overestimating the numbers here....., it would be a short term issue for them sure....., but all they would have to do is offer reverse rosters to western cities (mostly the EU) and commuting roster patterns with DEC positions and voilà....! All the pilots they need from Europe where the jobs market is really not so good and there are many pilots spread all over the world on contract..., the opportunity to have time at home in Europe while flying for EK will be very enticing to many of them I'm sure.

People go to the ME3 or elsewhere for a variety of reasons. Once you get there and it's not what you bargained for, no one stops you from leaving. You pay the remainder of your bond and off you go. You knew this when you signed up.
It's not the life for everyone and everyone's situation is different. It's always interesting to hear someone ***** about how terrrible it is/was after they leave having spent a decade there or else from someone who has never been there but just heard from someone.
