I don't think this will happen again unless we have the intent to burn the house down. Not sure if we could burn the entire ATSG house down or if Joe could use it as a way to finally do away with ABX through our actions. Either way more people than just management would be hurt badly by the outcome. Can't use this weapon until the final salvo.

I am willing to go on strike today if necessary. It's certainly an option. Hopefully the negotiations are going forward.

I didn't say I wasn't willing to strike, but it must be absolutely necessary and we wont be coming back. Guaranteed.

Just an outsider looking in with a thought. Didn't all the pilots on property know the pay scales coming into the job? Didn't all the pilots realize they are at ABX and not FDX or UPS? Do the pilots honestly think they are going to get the money and work rules that better established places in the cargo market who actually fly their own freight get? Im confused with this burn it down mentality when this is what you signed up for. This is why people with skeptical records go to places like this. I'm not saying all their are skeptical but I know a lot of them are.

Obvious lame attempt to stir the pot, but I've never heard anyone here expect fedex money. The 'big boys' are the standard and when their pay is rocketing up, our pay goes up also. That doesnt imply we expect the pay to be the same- just that in order to keep the 'losers and misfits' happy, you've gotta always pay them, say, 75% of what a fedex guy makes. And yes, we expect decent work rules. If we cant get decent money and decent work rules, why not burn the place down? I have no interest in staying at a bottom-feeder. There are a lot of jobs out there and you're out of the loop if you think everyone at ABX (or even the majority) have bad resumes. Some of us chose this because of the potential and its where we wanted to be, not because it was our only option.

You're assuming it's all about money. Nobody is asking for UPS rates, but the industry is moving forward and the company is profitable. Everybody took a paycut during the harsh times, now the most logical and basic request would be to get back what was conceded by the pilots to "save" the company. As far as work rules go, there are a couple of important things that need to be fixed. The big one, clear language regarding emergency trip assignments, aka junior manning. You cannot run a company with 0 reserves and expect pilots to bail you every single time and then complain to have to pay a premium for it.

The main holdup for signing a new contract is scope.

The strike happened beacuse 3 direct contract violations of the status quo by the company. Although the judge ordered the pilots back to work, ultimately we won the settlement. We weren't that "crazy" after all and the strike was never labeled as illegal.
I wouldn't dare to call ABX pilots cry babies or dreamers for fighting to get back what they lost.

FYI You'd be more than surprised if you'd see many of the resumes here, old timers and newhires.
