Hey...he just said you’d have to be an alumni to understand.
Just kidding. I think that people who say things like this among a group of professional aviators (freight dogs no less) are ridiculous. There was some dude a while back insisting that flying charter Lear 35 requires a level of experience and skill that very few will ever possess. “The Widowmaker” he said..........

I always thought that would be cool experience to have. Do FE's move to the right seat at IFL or are they professional Flight Engineers?
Honestly, I'd be as happy as a pig in the mud to fly anything in IFL's fleet. Except the CRJ. I applied on 350 for a 727 spot.

This could be old info...
- 20 min callout, wheels up in an hour.
- Flying almost anything, anywhere, anytime in CONUS, MEX, CAN. HAZMAT etc...
- Loading your own freight, J-bar and skates.
- Physically demanding work.
- Filing your own flight plans, W&B, GEN DEC’s, HAZMAT papers etc... this was done by phone and fax back in the day (see old info) :-)
- Get-R-Done attitude required.
- You will WORK for your paycheck at IFL. Lazybones need not apply.

Silly people write silly things
Old info above. It's not a regional or scheduled airline. If you like rocking a uniform, or one strapping into the terminal to get your Starbucks, don't go to IFL! It's older equipment that is demanding work. It's really simple and I do not know why some can't understand it and have to call it ridiculous.
There is another side to the industry where people go to hang their hat and do another kind of flying. Some like it. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone wants to work for a major or an ALPA carrier. You wanna know why? Every ten or so years the majors go broke. They either furlough thousands or threaten to furlough thousands so they can get that hand out. ALPA is a disgrace. So, not everyone wants to take the risk of going to a major/or LCC, and put themselves and their families at risk.
IFL is a decent company THAT IS NOT A MAJOR. Yes, it's demanding but not that hard. If you need a bobba bobba, or your hand held at work by your union daddy, go somewhere else. BIG BOY PANTS. It means just what I wrote here. If you love ACARS dinging at you all the time, stay where you are. There's always Home Depot. If you like old vintage airliners that require work AND you like to work instead of sitting for hours bored to tears, then go to IFL. If you're one of those couch potatoes in WALL E, love CNN, love Holiday Inn Express, love Panera Bread and your free morning coffee, stay where you are or don't go to IFL. It's like flying for one of the old supplementals back in the good old days. It is NOT Braniff and guess what happened to Braniff, and Pan Am and Eastern and TWA???

I guess if you're one of those pilots, you convince yourself of all that nonsense you posted here. 🤪

Interesting
I bet you wear a dress to work Hulka. I bet you NOTHING about IFL but are effectively calling those that work there losers or dead. It's a shame people like you in the industry exist always looking down on those perhaps less fortunate than yourself. I am willing to bet you're special and think so of yourself. I bet you fly for a major or a company you think is better and that no matter what, everyone you deem less than you is! We need to remind ourselves that not everyone gets to play for the Yankees and wear the pinstripes.
Do your research before you makes disparaging comments about another company and it's employees. You could have just asked. And btw, a lot of people maybe losing their jobs and need a source of income. I replied here originally to help people and on another forum as well. I have been honest about what IFL is and isn't and now you have to throw stones. What in the hell is wrong with you.
One last thing, my comments are tongue in cheek previous post. Thought it was obvious.

not everyone wants to go to the big 3 but most do and the exception doesn't negate the rule. not everyone is a loser that works for ifl but statistically there are most likely skeletons in their closet. the bum standing on the corner might legitimately need help instead of being a panhandler. you don't have to explain yourself away as to why you work for a company. just do what i do. stare at the floor and wait for them to go away.
