This thread gives me a warm feeling inside. Reminds me of the Fridays in the squadron bar, the hours of freestyle argument, loudest guy wins....ah, the memories. I remember a fistfight once over whether a steak tastes better when you flip it just once, or several times. I won that one, but my victory was short-lived, as I decisively lost the next scrap over what color the sky was. I said blue. I was wrong by at least sixty pounds.
Now, old age has made me kindly and moderate. So, I humbly point out that many of those here have flown fighters AND heavies and some have flown many, many other types as well. On behalf of such has-beens and weak dicks, I ask the kind forbearance of the one-airplane-so-far yutes in tolerating our antiquated and dicked up opinions, as we will be dead soon anyway (but senior to you until then). On my own behalf, I promise to call each and every one of you when I learn everything about aviation, if you will call me when you do (don't call tonight 1S1E, tomorrow or this weekend is OK). That'll be a great party and I'll buy the first keg.
Who's pushing to the bar?

Dawg...my much congrats! Did you do interview prep? I am meeting with Adam Hughes next week. Was your interview just like the gouge? Finally, how long did you wait to get the welcome letter after your interview?
Take care and congrats again.

My first Desert Shield msn. Clark to Diego to Masirah to Diego to Clark. No autopilot, basic crew. 26+ hours flying in one duty period. We were so tired going back to Clark that I got a 4000' block and it was all we could do to stay in it. Then they tried to turn my crew in 10+2! Ahh the good old days. Glad I learned never to try that again!

Hi all,
I asked this earlier but I think it got buried by the fighter vs. tanker debate about who was better.
The question is does anyone know the difference between ON FILE and ACTIVE in the Application Status?
Thanks

When it goes to "on File" they no longer require changes, I think that is in part because they have already looked at your app and placed you in one "pile" or the other. As stated in a different thread (I think), once they decide that they want to meet you, you are in the que and they no longer care about updates. If you are still active, they may want you to have access to update your times so that you may reach their search criteria.
Again, just a guess... but it seems that it held true for three of my friends.
Good Luck to you!!!
