Here's a news flash.. My buddy just emaild HR about the "transoceanic" requirement. His email from HR stated the following as the critera...
"Transoceanic experience is experience with navigational and communications associated with other than land-based navigational aids (class two navigation)".
According to this, just going from JFK to The Dominican Republic is a qualifier, Not necissarily "hopping the pond".

I just got called for a wiz quiz!!

2007 Second Officer App.
Job fair on 26th Jan
Assessment 29th Jan
Requested a resume 09 Feb.
Interview Apr 04
No word on class dates, etc, just that next box to be checked off in the process. Good luck to all of those wanting Brown!!

Caddis, here is my take from what I have been through and watching other buddies go through the process. I THINK that "active" means that you are in the "in box" and they have not yet looked at your app. This is why you are allowed to update/change parts of your app.
When it goes to "on File" they no longer require changes, I think that is in part because they have already looked at your app and placed you in one "pile" or the other. As stated in a different thread (I think), once they decide that they want to meet you, you are in the que and they no longer care about updates. If you are still active, they may want you to have access to update your times so that you may reach their search criteria.
Again, just a guess... but it seems that it held true for three of my friends.
