Same result...pretty sure they tell you to mult your time by 1.3, not add 1.3 to your time...
We can tell you aren't a math major, your math only works if EVERY sortie equaled 1 hr.

Here is an example:

Lets say a P-3 pilot had 100 sorties at 10hrs each for 1000 hrs, and an F-18 pilot had 1000 sorties at 1 hr each for 1000 hrs. Now, apply your math.

Poor example,

Everybody knows P-3 guys are worthless, and wouldn't get hired anyway...unless they snuck in the back door by throwing boxes

More like 2400 sorties...we do a whole lot them without tankers. Which adds another 700+ hours.

And I wish we did a half hour debrief. Takes that long just to get the tapes cued. If we got credit for brief and debrief you'd have a 1000hours at the end of RTU.

I'm going to guess that for the average F-15/16 guy the average sortie duration is around 1.3-1.5, depending on how much time he's spent deployed. Adding .3 per sortie could add 250 hours (equivalent to an entire good year of flying in the fighter community).

Question: What do you call the 27 year old kid in the left seat?
Answer: Captain

Lighten up dude.

Ahh, math-in-public...never a good thing. What do you expect from a viper guy who flys alot of 1.0's.

Yep, where you stand is often determined by where you sit!

However, I don't know anyone who added that debrief time to their total time and then added .3 for each sortie. I always thought it was block to block, plus the multiplier, but maybe they do things differently in AMC (Air Mobility Command.)
Actually I only flew around 25 training sorties in AMC. Most of my time was PACAF out of the 18th WG and CENTCOM. I've never heard of anyone adding debrief time either. I just mentioned it to make the point to freightpup that military guys tend to critique and debrief their respective sorties. I've learned a lot from feedback from cell mates and crewmembers during debriefs.
