Don't they call that "the 'taint"?

Or, is it the "runway"?

At least he leaves no doubt as to where he's coming from and confirms I won't trust him. Not that I've had any reason to trust management before, but I keep hoping for signs of change.
Wife was a communications major in college, so I asked her to read the email from the big O. Of course she is not up on all the pilot jargon but she did say "Whats up his ass".

I can see that. What constitutes big interviewing/hiring/training around here is small compared to what most of the other majors have done previously and likely will again once they get their folks recalled. Airlines like AA and UA were hiring 25-50 a week and interviewing well over 100 a week just to get those numbers. Not a knock on how FDX choses to hire, but I can see how it would be harder to sustain that type of business relying solely on FX.

Stick
Must say stick has it right. SCP said what 95% of us would have said if we were just promoted to SCP. Perhaps he should have run it through a consultation firm first, but at least I know what he wants. If I were on probabtion, applying for LCA, or Reg CP it would probably change what I did when getting out of the recliner at 0215 for the 0225 show. But I have no greater ambition at FDX than Crewdog.

Nobody is here because the judge said fly for Fedex or do hard time. We are all volunteers who should have a pretty good idea of what the job called for. But if you want a daddy wuvs his little fdx pilots letter dont listen to the Alex Baldwin voice mail.

I thought Uncle Alex left the country for France? Is he still around? Guess I'll have to watch SNL - he had that skit about "swheaty balls"! A modern day comic genius............er, maybe not.

Get Real FDXFLAG. I don't know how long you have been here.
The Same could be said for all of us who served as Officers in the Military. Being a former Marine and having been in Leadership positions. No one denies being a leader isn't a popularity contest. You can't be BUDS with your subordinates. Most of us realize this but........

Leadership 101......."Praise is Public, Punish in Private"
"Take care of your People First"
"Lead by Example"
In other words, walk a mile in my shoes. Name one Senior Flight MGR here who has been a real LINE pilot..........Not a flex or Training manager guy, Not a Standards Cubicle guy, or some Special Projects guy. We do have a few good folks in the lower ACP ranks, one that we all hoped would get the SCP job.........not our call though.

The MGT style in this company never ceases to amaze me.
Taking "The beatings will continue until the morale improves" approach generally doesn't work.

There appears to be a purge going on in the MGT ranks. Maybe this a positive sign. We will see who is the new RCP and the new CDG ACP or P's
Standards, Central Region Chief Pilot, A couple ACP's.
I heard even the "Contract Administer Guru" CAPT JH has quietly elected to return to the line......(I.e. FLEX)
There are even rumors that the Head of 757 Training isn't making friends and influencing people concerning his current personal 757 training in ATL.

Actions speak louder than words. I'll still give "O" the benefit of the doubt, but I will be disappointed if the tone of the emails don't change.

If there is really a problem........speak to the problem, (of course judging from the former SCP "Missive letters" they apparently think it is most of us.)
Personally 98% of the line Pilots I fly with are top notch..........

Do they always have a spit shine appearance after night 3 of AM Hub turns? NO, but they do their job professionally every night......though often very tired.

Ask yourself FDX Flag, if our Pilots didn't go above and beyond every night, wouldn't you agree that the system would fall apart? IF the Senior MGT guys would have spent a couple years actually flying the line for a couple years before they got these jobs, maybe the would know that.

Thank you Redeye. I think you speak for a lot of us. It seems we are here for the mgt pilot instead of the other way around.
