You’ll be a 4 plane Combi operation when it’s done.” when their demand that ATI support a “merger” was rebuffed. Why was the offer rebuffed you might ask? Because 1224 said Home Basing in its entirety had to go.
BS 1224 never demanded anything. Many scenarios were presented/suggested to try to satisfy both pilot groups. You are correct they were all rebuffed. Why you might ask? Fear of going thru ABX training was the one we heard most often. 1224 or anyone else for that mater had no magical power to demand " Home basing in its entirety had to go."
Another drama queen, get over yourself.

Good lord. ABX training was the most cream puff training I’ve ever gone through. And the single carrier petition was absolutely a thing. It was a horribly spiteful environment. Nice spin.

You are correct, ABX training is "NOW" pretty cream puff and not to the standards they were in legacy days. That is what some of the previous post(s) were referring to regarding the level difficulty and proficiency that was required by ABX. Not all of that was good in itself but that is another discussion. The lowering of standards (IMO) is not just at ABX but everywhere...including but not limited to all the ACMIers. It is what is required to get warm bodies. If they weren't that way, chances are you and several others would not have been hired nor successful. Try not to attempt to evaluate a standard that is not in affect nor that you have ever participated in.

well I was around before the strike and some of you guys were pretty proud of your “difficult training” then. You should be proud though….it was an excellent training department I thought.

If you can read and comprehend, i said "what we heard," but having said that, I had an opportunity to commute with one of ATI's DC8 Captains quite a few times and he made that very comment on more than one occasion. Now please take a nap...it seems like you are cranky and missed one.

If you are out there reading forums about where to go (in the ACMI world) or who not to consider in your aviation quest.....Do yourself a favor and move away from the Dumpster Fire called ABX Air. The place is a consistent series of vicious cycles of management dislikes for their largest employee group. Very rarely will you hear of things getting "better" and I do not mean the acquisition (or loss) of aircraft, routes, or upgrades. Simply put whenever management is faced with choices, even when it is cost neutral, they will take the road that is less appealing to pilot employees. This segment of the industry to full of operators with issues and concerns, ABX just happens to lead from the bottom with no end in sight.

I don’t think ABX is doom and gloom. Don’t get me wrong it definitely needs a lot, I mean a lot of work. No acars, no CPDLC, no GPS, so far behind the times of technology it’s beyond sad. The retirement is sad compared to others. No profit sharing as the management manipulates and shuffles stuff around to hide it. The only airline in ACMI to have airport appreciation, (I know of) And terrible reserve rules. But I think guys like JM, BB and DC treat you fair. JM is a great dude straight shooter as much as he can be. The guys we fly with are great. It’s definitely got a laid back atmosphere. Minus our 2-3 guys really. I don’t get yelled at for wearing a ball cap at work. Most guys don’t even wear a tie. It’s not all bad. Could always be better. But can also always be worse. Definitely got that “Family” atmosphere. Take it for what it’s worth. If not happy move on. Many are, and many are looking…

Connie Kalitta tells us we’re like a family too. I feel his idea of a family is; free labor that won’t sue over improper working conditions.

Is ABX that kinda of family?

No. You are apparently not at all familiar with our union's history of advocating for its members in all aspects of the job.
