Ummm, so what you're saying is that if (for example) you're given an assignment that is illegal, either contractually or per the regulations, and you go speak to an ACP about this issue, you think it's best that the ACP thinks about the company first and the pilot second? Wow.

And What's With Capitalizing The Fist Letter Of Every Word? It's Pretty Annoying.

I do not believe that an ACP would ever tell a pilot to do anything he thought was against the FAR's; however, they do make occasional mistakes. i have never been asked to do anything which was against the FAR's. By way, we have the best safety record of all domestic carriers. I think that a major part of this record is do to management pilot oversight. There is no "good old boy" network operating at UPS.

Now I know that you must be a fraud. No line pilot at ups would owe the safety record to mgmt oversight!! As far as being told to do something against the fars, that happens far more often than you would care to admit. The line pilot's recourse is to get the acp's signature authorizing that what is being asked is in accordance with fars. You won't find anyone there to sign their name!

Enjoy your mgmt stock at xmas but be ready to work your *ss off during peak; the line pilots have had enough and they won't go the "extra mile" like last year to bail out big brown. Just like the teamsters debacle in 98, you could have settled with the union cheaply. Your arrogance will cost you.

Now that's funny!
You're just stirring the pot UPS CPT, don't think for a second that I really believe that you're a line pilot. And if you truly are, and again I seriously doubt it, then I'm sure you're one of those wierd loners that we all avoid on layovers.

OK ... time for a slight tangent to this topic. Why is UPS all of the sudden hiring a bunch of these guys from outside? Is there any coorelation to UPS hiring a bunch mgmt pilots and the threat of a strike?

No, supposedly all of the mgt pilots are near 60 and with the anticipated growth they need to hire more anyway. The Teamsters (truck drivers) are supposed to honor the IPA strike, so even if every single mgt pilot flies, there should be a major hiccup with the cargo. the Teamsters have their contract coming due next year and its quid pro quo.

They are hiring mgt. to replace attrition of current mgt. By the way, I really am a line guy, but I see it both ways. I would not scab, but I don't think there will be a strike. U.P.S. will cave in the end!!!
