Active vs. On File
In the May 07 window a buddy of mine partially filled out the UPS app. but never completed nor submitted it. Yesterday he went in and completed his app. and submitted it. He was given a page to fill in all his flight experience and such. When completed and submitted his app. shows up as "On File." He was never given the option to upload a resume.
On the other hand have I filled out the app. for the first time having never logged into the UPS site before. I wasn't given a window to populate for flight times/experience, and was only given the opportunity to upload a resume(which I did). After updating my resume my app. shows "Active."
So, what's the difference between "On File" and "Active", and how come some of us are getting directed to different application webpages?

It is weird. I had a place to put my flight times, but no opportunity to upload a resume. Some people have had the opportunity to upload a resume, but no place to put flight times. Some go active, some go on file. I'm definitely going to wait this one out and not make too many hairs turn gray. I have a few friends in the squadron here who have been to the AirInc conferences and believe that interviews have been direct results. So I plan on making the trek to D.C...

Does anyone get the following message when submitting the Flight Crew Application Supplement? I left no values blank. Zero's are inserted when the box doesn't apply i.e. military time.
"Application Error
We're sorry, but an application error occurred while trying to process your request. Please go back and try again."

Not sure if anyone ever replied but you're correct, it's turbo-prop or turbo-jet time they are looking for. It's a typo on the application; there were guys in my class who had zero time in turboprops.

From the chief pilot
Here is something sent today from the UPS chief pilot about the latest hiring window:
Human Resources is currently accepting online resumes for pilot applicants. Candidates may apply once per calendar year. If you know someone who is interested in flying for UPS, have them visit www.upsjobs.com and select "search for professional positions" then search the key word "flight officer." After selecting a position, choose "apply now." It is important to note that applicants should fully complete the application prior to clicking "submit" since updates are not permitted until the next calendar year. All candidates who were not interviewed during the current calendar year are required to re-apply during the next calendar year. Most of their data will populate in the new application but can be updated. Existing UPSers can recommend an applicant by completing the recommendation form on www.airupsers.com. Recommendations remain in the system indefinitely.
Hopefully this answers a few questions about the process and updating apps, etc

Hey Fatty,
Mine looked the same as yours (nice screen pic) if that helps. I even wanted to ad something to my resume (scrambled alittle too fast yesterday) and hit delete (while holding my breath!) and uploaded the new one. No flight time sup, and my status shows "active". hope that helps. Good luck all!

Fatty and Z2007:
Same here, same page. Uploaded my resume, all check boxes, got the window saying "nothing further to do..." but never asked for flight times in any kind of flight hour supplement. I sent an email to the "help" address, we'll see what they say.
Have to admit, I'm a little perplexed that UPS has not been able to crack this on line app nut a little better. Don't get me wrong - would love to work there, but just reading the posts here there seem to be several variations in what should be a pretty straight forward process.
Also, I seem to be able to go in and update stuff, despite what it says at the beginning of the process about it being a 1 shot deal.
OH well,, will STFB.

I sent a message via "Contact Us" and clicked the option below. I received a response within a few hours stating that the Flight Crew Application Supplement had been added to my application.
If you have recently completed a job inquiry via the UPS jobs web site and have a question regarding that inquiry, logging in or completing the application, please click here.
