Sorry it looks that way. Just dont think we need to be fighting imaginary battles when there are plenty others to be fought ie scheduling, dudes flying 11 disputed pairings etc.

I was just trying to tell someone how to make the system work instead of telling some new guy to call CE right off the bat.

When it happens to me I'll be on the phone with CE.

You're being asked to help the whole pilot group. There is an active fight going on over this. Many pilots here have not been able to use the actual fare for their bank, like you say you have. It's not just some guys "yelling and screaming" in an "imaginary battle". There is an actual disagreement between auditors/mgmt and your fellow pilots over accepted fares. And, ALPA Contract Enforcement is asking for evidence from anyone that is or has been able to use the actual fares.

Please don't just wait until it happens to you.

The way I read it so far.... guys like fub are saying wait until the company buys the ticket, then deviate. This has always worked for me.

So far only one guy, kronan, has said this didn't work for him, and that was one time. One case of the company denying the higher fare does not make it a concerted effort by the company - more like a new or especially aggressive auditor.

I'm not saying that it's all peachy with deviation banks - but just like how you game other things, game the deviation thing. You can bet the company is. If you deviate as soon as you get your line, then you are stuck with the published fare. Guys that bid trips to their home city could care less, so they deviate early. If you are commuter, try waiting until the company buys a ticket and see what they pay before you deviate.

But as fub said, there are bigger fish to fry right now. Instead of arguing about an extra $100 on a fare we should be fighting the fact that many Sunday afternoon DHs have now turned into Monday morning DHs. I see more and more scheduled DHs with no possible backups, making deviating almost impossible.

Yes I believe I answered no problem to someone asking me to contact CE. So therefore that would mean I will contact them. Is that clear enough for you?

You act like I'm the only one confused about this. I havent been the only person to ask what the fuss is all about. I remember an entire thread about this. One dude was complaining and everyone else was asking what the problem is. Someone just psoted a link to it. Sorry if only one person complaining on an anonymous bulletin board doesnt get me worked up.

If there is an actual grievance, no problem I'll lend a hand. But just believing what I read on some bulletin board beacause one dude is complaining about it, well call me skeptical.

If you got a problem with how I answered someones post for how to get the problem fixed, well too bad. Try spending some time off the computer and doing something else.

So if Kronan gets screwed so what?

ALPA and the company are arguing about this. If ALPA loses guess what - Kronan wont be the only one. It will be the policy and it will be set in stone.

pilot141, it is happening to MANY of your fellow pilots. Guys are waiting to deviate until after they are issued higher-priced tickets by corp travel, and are still being denied the higher ticket price for their deviation bank. Management and Crew Travel Audit have publicly stated that you are only entitled to the original accepted fare if you deviate. Again, please get a hold of David T. in C.E. and help with a grievance that is being actively pursued right now by Contract Enforcement.

I never said that. He was the only guy in this thread who had an actual case of getting screwed, and I pointed that out.

If there are a bunch of guys getting screwed then they should be contacting CE and adding ammo to our salvos. I'm not saying that this isn't happening - I was just addressing the specifics of this thread. I've asked a lot of my buds about this and they've all had my experience - wait until the ticket is purchased and you get the higher bank.

I'll contact contract enforcement with my historical data of getting the higher fares tomorrow. I wasn't around for the "big audit" so I don't know if my data will be useful (that's sarcasm for those of you in Rio Linda) but I'll submit it.

My overall point was that maybe we should be addressing the overall degradation of DHs first. I see more and more guys jumpseating into MEM to catch the scheduled DH (especially to Europe) because there is no way they can deviate - the front-end DH is built with a tight connection and no backup flights.

How about this;
I recently had a trip which was revised to a doudle DH while I was on it. No accepted fares in the bidpack or on my pairing. Historical fares for this city run $300-$700. I printed out my Global Travel iteneraries for both. Am I entitled to that much in bank?
