FDX March Disputed Pairings
#12
A quick addendum to my previous post: if the company screws up and puts a dispute on a secondary line - if you elect sub, they can then give you the same dispute in SUB So you lose 25% of the pay vs. draft. Go figure.

Secondary Line holders, scrutinize your lines carefully when awarded. Make sure you have not been assigned a DP. If you have you have 3 options according to the CBA. 1. Fly it at draft 2. Decline it for substitution 3. Drop it into M/U bank. [/I][/B]If you elect sub, you probably won't fly given the dearth of non-DP trips available (so you get paid w/o flying).

CDG-MAN-MEM was disputed last fall and was split up until the MAR08 bid month, it looks like all the pairings with CDG-MAN-MEM are actually APR trips (all carryover).

Unless they are offered as RAT, you fly them at 100%, so you lose 50%. Of course you could wait until your availability period which starts 4 hours prior to the original show time to accept or reject that sub trip and then be eligible for OTP. I say don't fly them at draft or in sub. The more difficult we make it for scheduling to assign these trips, the better chance we have of fixing them. People just need to stop being so short sighted.

Maybe all carryover but still MAR trips. Thought we had that sequence worked out but I guess not...

RJ puke/FedEx wannabe here. Gotta ask the dumb question: What is a Disputed Pairing? Are they pairings that were constructed without abiding by the criteria set forth in the CBA? Just curious guys.

No they comply with the CBA but are onerous or maybe odorous. Generally they have two high risk approaches after a long night. Or a scheduled short turn that is unrealistic (35 min in BOS). We have a commitee that identfies them and keeps them out of the bid pack. they can only be flown by request or reserve assignment. Requesting one make the commitee look bad.
