As of a few minutes ago all but 3 of the DP's on the MEM MD are filled by junior First Officers. All are 43xxxx or higher except one that was filled by a 300xxx number. Many were picked up by 500xxx numbers. I didn't recognize any of the names. A couple months ago I recognized a name and emailed and spoke with him. All 400xxx and 500xxx F/O's should be looking up the DPs and calling your crashpad roomates or classmates and asking them why they picked up the DP and post their reply here.

I have now officially swapped with open flying (SOF) FOUR times this month in order to improve my VTO. None of them were DPs.

If I hear the 'no open flying' excuse again I will vomit.

My email:
XXXX,
I'm sure you know you have 2 DP's in March. I hope you realize you are really hurting all of us who are trying to make FDX a good place to work. Picking up the crap trips that you did does nothing but hurt all of us, including you. Do the right thing. There are plenty of open time trips throughout the day you can grab. It's a tough job already, don't make it harder.

Response:
XXXXX,
Thanks for the e-mail! I agree, and made a mistake in which I later
figured out. I do not pick up the disputed pairings and will trade out
of these. I know that does not help for the way the system works, but
it was a mistake.

Trip 292 14 Mar and Trip 792 29 Mar

Still hasn't dropped them yet. Way to go, bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job bluejuice, or should I say Dr. Phil.

You need to be talking guys off of 50th floor balconies in NYC.

This would make a good form letter for many who actually give a crap to send to these independent contractors.

So what are reserves supposed to do call in sick? If so then the union should buy the trip from them. If there is a problem with a reserve flying one then we need to can the whole MEC who bought off on the last CBA, saying reserves can be assigned to them. I think it is outrageous that it can be a DP because it is unsafe, but they can be assigned to reserves. Let's worry about the 90% of the DP's in MEM that are being flown by volunteers.

I think he was trying to say happily "it was assigned to a RSV" like it should be ! The FO seat also went to RSV. Unfortunately one of the only remaining FO DP's was picked up, 798/5APR. Only 1 DP for MEM FO open as of today.
