Goulet69, All the new DC8 FE's in the recent bid either came from the FE's that are presently on the soon to be retired 747-200's, or from junior FO's who were bumped from their positions by senior FO's as a result of the 747 drawdown. None of the new FE's are new hires. I'm not sure that answers your question, but want to make sure that is understood.

In one of the last bids, manpower planning said that the 3 new 767's that are coming next year are already staffed. Take it for what its worth...

Thanks very much for the timely responses. I am kind of ignorant on some of the terms you used so bare with me. When I said hiring I guess I should have said interviewing. From what you said Roberto it sounds like UPS already had guys and gals interviewed and hired from when the window was open back in late 07 early 08, and those will be the bodies they will be using to fill any vacancies should they open up. UPSFOLIFE when you said (and I know you prefaced your statement with "rumor") that they might be hiring 300, is that going to be people already interviewed and waiting in a pool or do you think they will do some more interviews? Again, any and all thoughts current employees have are welcome. Thanks for your time.
Well, I don't think they have 300 in the pool. I think the number is more like 50-60. So IF we do hire in the near future, yes they will have to start interviewing again. I would just watch news on the DHL deal over the next few months. If it becomes official, then I would think the window would open up fairly quickly.
