The lack of short term additional -400's may give some credence to the Transmile MD rumor which seems to have gone into recession. Or maybe DHL will be handling all of our international lift from now on.

He addressed the Transmile planes with a defnite "no". He did say that we had looked at them though. He looked over at the VP Finance who shook his head confirming what Lekites had said. You mention 30+ 767's and I think that is what he was getting at as well. They could be Airbuses but something in that group would be needed. I definitely got a vibe though that things are always subject to change. I don't think that they have the DHL thing figured out yet and what they would like to do vs. what they will have to do may be two different things. In other words, we may see more MD-11's yet, even though he says he doesn't want that. Events may overcome his desires.

After all these years, I have given up trying to figure them out and I just smile when the check goes ito my account every other monday. I guess a little seniority buys you that luxury

If I had to bet I'd say they'll get more MD11's (despite their problems with reliability-try fixing things and having parts) and dig up more -400's for conversion, as if they are choking on the 777 price tag, the Ocho will make them do a Karen Carpenter.
And I hope they have the brains to get 767's instead of more Yugos.
