Just heard from my sister in law that there is a proposal called SB 2099 that runs through the finance committee of the Senate. It in a nutshell satates that each gn owner would have to pay a tax of $50.00 per weapon owned. Anybody else hear of such a thing. And right after I ordered my HK under the Pilot pistol program.

Google and 3 minutes...

snopes.com: Handgun Safety and Registration Act

Somewhat true, gun manufacturers would have to pay(I'm sure they'd pass the cost along), but you'd have to register your guns...

Sorry,

Snopes has a bias that I wouldn't trust on issues like this. However, I am quoting another source with bias. What they say on the matter is probably more authoritative.

A question on the HK pilot offer -

The HK website says the offer expires in October. Does this mean the program is ending forever, or is this like when a Dominos Pizza coupon expires and the next day there's a new coupon?

Have there been expiration dates in the past?

I'm wondering if the expiration just means the price will go up again, or if the offer is done for good.

Thanks,

Boomer

Where on the website did you see this?

Click on the link and you'll see the expiration date at the bottom (in red).

I know the price has gone up twice in the past, so I'm wondering if the current price is expiring or the entire offer is expiring?

Give me a break! How is Snopes more biased than the whack jobs @ the NRA??

Yeah, whatever.

Because.....you frickin whack job...the NRA happens to tell the truth on this matter. Even though they may have bias in this matter, (which by the way I acknowledged in the original post) They debunked the rumours on this issue, contrary to what you might think they'd do. They'd rather not people get spun up about something that isn't a threat, they'd rather have people spend their energies fighting something that is a threat.

Snopes is known to be run as an opinion site by a married couple. If you look around it long enough you will see the bias. I figure if the NRA says not to worry about a certain piece of legislation regarding gun rights, then it probably isn't a threat since they are the first to rise at any attempt at curtailing 2nd amendment rights.

Did you go to the link I posted and read it? Or did you just assume you know what it said by making inaccurate assumptions about the NRA?

Let me guess your political inclination.

I've been using Snopes for a long time. I've never noticed the bias. I have noticed that most debunking that I've seen on Snopes has been backed up with actual references. Maybe that's the bias you're talking about...The facts?

In fact...If your post was a Snopes article...It would have references at the bottom, with links to the "biased" articles.

By the way...Did you go to the Snopes link and read it?

Yes, I went to the link and, as usual, the "whack jobs" at the NRA were spewing the same BS. I guess it is safe to assume that you're a whack job extraordinaire biased member. I put more trust in the bias of Fox News, let alone Snopes over the nut jobs at the NRA. So, again. Whatever. Your opinion is duly noted.

Let me guess yours.
