That brings up an interesting strategy. If you have any inkling to bid HKG as a right seater you might as well bid it first as a Captain. That would be a nice pay bump if you were going to go over there anyway. Of course, you have to keep HKG Capatain at 100% as your first choice until you can hold it or the equivalent if you want to keep the passover pay. But if you are willing to go as an FO, no real harm there.

feel free to go back and read the thousands of posts and dozens of threads over the last 2 years about it if you just have to keep the dirt loose that's burying all that - no, I didn't "also bid it."

my point was can we just, at this point, try to keep it to constructive/helpful comments so that we can all try to make the best of "the perfect storm" of bad events.

moving forward.......I like the strategy of "if you're going to bid HKG FO anyway, might as well get paid as a Captain"......why would you not leave Captain 100% on your bid? you could get it.

Not to mention I still think the HKG FO going junior is very solid furlough protection for all.
