I don't think it's ignorance; it's more of not letting the wool being pulled over my eyes. That whole affirmative action "movement" is racist/sexist, whatever. If we are to be a true egalitarian society,then WHAT you are is a human being(NOT black/white/woman etc). Only WHO you are(e.g. flying skills/credentials) should matter(when applying for a job, e.g.). But i guess that only works one way, when convienent.

I agree with you. I would rather there was no affirmative action because then I wouldn't have to hear stupid comments being made by guys that have less experience then me because of assumptions. Unfortunately, let's not forget the reason for affirmative action in the first place. If the people in charge were not bigots and sexist who wouldn't give women or minorities a chance even if they had experience, we wouldn't have had to have affirmative action.

So, C150, just make sure if you are going to flap your yap about the wool not being pulled over your eyes, you just make sure that when you are ready to apply to the majors one day, you do everything you can to get a job. Don't be one of those guys that complains that they can't get a job but when I ask them if they have applied anywhere, they look at me like I have three heads because....that's right....they haven't done JACK! Get my drift?

Now, I am still waiting for Nash to explain to me how the guy in my class got there since he claims chicks and minorities get hired with apparently no experience and the poor wittle white guys have to go through so much and get the shaft all the time. C'mon big guy, tell me please. HOW DID HE GET THERE??????

That is absolutely not true. I worked at UPS for 4 years on the ramp and they were more than happy to hire me back. Sorry to say that you cannot work your way up from box thrower to line pilot. You have to quit at some point to get the flight time.

Sorry, I dont look at this forum everyday like you do. Now what is your question? Someone in your class was a white male that was hired with 2500 hours? And he had less experience than you?

My examples were of women who had zero PIC time and 175 hours of right seat time, and flew for there airline for 5 months. And the other that had not been in an airplane for two years. We were hired together, so I know. She wasn't hiding the fact.

A guy with 2500 hours is not even close to my examples. I would say 90% of the military guys have less than 2500 hours. So to say he was inexperienced is wrong. The Facts are UPS has the highest PERCENTAGE of minorities of any airline in the USA. Hands down. And they have hired many that if were male would not even been called.

Dont let anyone yank your chain.
Just figure that there are some who are jealous and some who are bigots and some that are just neanderthals.
If you let them get to you than they have won.
We all have to put up with it from those with sensitive egos who just cant cope with the fact that a woman can be as good or better in their jobs then a man. Some guys are just insecure about their masculinity, these are generally the ones that pick on us...
Better to just feel sorry for them....
