. the only gain that was made in retirement was the cancellation of the SS offset, other than that, retirement is the same.[/QUOTE]
Not true. I definately agree that the A plan is pathetic, but than again, I probably wont have one in 27 years. I prefer a 12% B plan, but it does not mean I am voting for this contract. Just remember, B plan is your money...do with it as you wish. A plan will be gone like everybody other airline... Especially when I reitire

I am not a fan of everything Cynical says, but he is right on this one. The pay is inadaquate. I haven't read all the details but just from an hourly figure its only about a 2% raise from the hourly figure we signed in '98 (inflation figured in). For a company that profits billions, this isn't what is acceptable.
For you FedEx guys, please finish negotiations soon and raise the bar where it needs to be. That way we can use you as leverage so we can further raise the bar. So on and so forth. From the initial reaction from the members I have heard from this is a NO VOTE, almost exclusively. Time will tell. Until then, I say "GO PURPLE GUYS! DO WHAT, SO FAR, WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DO! DELIVER AN INDUSTRY LEADING CONTRACT!"

Could you please share a few highlights of your contract with us? Perhaps some contrast and comparison could add substance to your unsolicited expert analysis. We all have so much to gain from an intellect of your level, however, one could view your input as blatantly envious drivel without a minutia of backing. Whenever you're ready........

Unfortunately, I don't see ALPA helping out the people that need it the most. The regional chimps. That's not saying that EVERYONE doesn't need it the most, EVERYONE needs balls.

I'm not saying the contract is good until I've read it all. But the A plan is NOW funded with the managers retirement. Huge improvement. If it goes bye bye the managers retirement goes bye bye.
