If I understand correctly it is basically nothing but reserve. 13 days off in a 28 day bid period on the DC-9? 55 hour guarantee? 24 hour a day on call for work days? 30 mins if you are at the top of the board but longer if you are not at the top? $57.12 for first and second year FO at 55 hours for 13 bid periods?
55 hours x 13 bids periods = 715 hours a year
715 x $57.12 = $40,841
Please tell me what I got wrong. This isn't adding up because I was told DC-9 FO base pay is $37,000/yr.
Also Captain pay higher but only a 45 hour guarantee?
What else do I need to know?

Your math calculations are correct, but you "failed" the "Word Problem" part....remember in school, when you could do the math, but the "word" part of the "Word Problem" tripped you up (or me....or some of our readers)???
USAJet has 13 bid periods of 28 days.
USAJet also has 24 pay periods of twice a month.....so the pay is based monthly, while the bid periods are based on a 13x a year schedule.

Last month we got 11days off. They just took two without asking and then paid us half our daily rate for them (which is definately not worth an extra day at home in most peopls opinion). Forget the math plan on 40k in the 9. Breaking garauntee is completely out of your control regardless of how long you've been here. So yeah some guys will have a 70 hr month once or twice but its pretty much a lottery system.

Don't let your frustration with your current company allow you to make a huge mistake. If you are a captain at a regional you are in a great position to move UP when the doors open. You would be starting over by going to a place like USA Jet. You would be on 45 minute reserve whenever your working, flying back side, front side of the clock sometimes flip flopping real close together which is terrible, flying old junky equipment with lots of delays/cancellations due to maintenance and dispatchers/mgt trying to get you to fly it that way. Many times you are loading it yourself and "doing TSA's job." Plus new ownership just took over that place and started whacking people including the DO, Chief Pilot, and some line guys because they were overstaffed only to have guys jumping off the sinking ship which required them to start hiring off the street three months later. I speak from personal experience. Stay away!

Sounds like hell. I don't know if I could handle it. It angers me just hearing about it. If I woke up at 8 am and was up all day and they called me at 11 pm while I was sleeping that would be a fatigue call. When do those new rest rules go into effect? It's sad that if the FAA doesn't tell certain companies what is common sense when it comes to duty and rest that they will abuse you.
Also, new rest rules won't save the guys flying cargo. So when you might have been on call to long to do a pax flight you'll still be good for a cargo run. They will probably keep the same schedule and just go down the list and find the first crew legal for pax. So nothing would change at USA jet.
