S..ty union is like a band aid it may not fix the issue but it sure slows the bleeding. I agree u don't wanna go Alpa or teamsters but an in house wouldn't be a bad idea. At least you have someone the managers can listen too or having a ***** session without facing repercussions. JMO.

Regional pilots going to usa jet typically don't last long. Regional lifestyle is miles ahead of usajet lifestyle.
Usajet does not have enough pilots...does not generate enough union revenue to be viable.
I think a regional guy would be happier at the majors, atlas, omni, LCCs, out flying in China our overseas than usajet.

Atlas really is where I want to be, but it looks like I'll need to make an intermediate move in order to improve my qualifications. Making some QOL sacrifices in the mean time are well worth it for me.

Side note, the APC hourly guarantee is wrong, its now 45 hours for all fleets for those buyers be ware.

I'm poised to take a break from flying a desk to go fly for an airplane for a change. For me USA Jet seems like an attractive proposition because it would not be as drastic a pay cut as going to a regional.
Please help me to understand how one lifestyle could be any worse than the other.

Like I said in a previous post its on demand cargo. There is no scheduled flying. You sit on reserve 24/7 on your days on waiting for the phone to ring. When it does you have 30mins to be at airport. That is how it is different than an regional job.

Schedule
Just a question to anyone in this thread that works for USA Jet Airlines. I'm going in to interview with USA Jet and want to get as much information as possible in order to make a decision.
First I know that there is 13 hard days off for the DC-9 and 11 for the Falcon; however, I'd like to know how long are do your "on duty" rotations last vs. your days off. Is is a 3 on 3 off or 6 on 2 off type schedule or does it vary from month-to-month randomly?
Just how fatiguing is this type of flying?
Is it true that USA Jet has already acquired cargo conversions of the CRJ-200 to replace the Falcons?
Lastly, is there an idea of how long an upgrade can be reasonably expected for a new-hire?
Any bit of info is greatly appreciated.

My end goal is Atlas. Currently I'm a 7 year FO at a sinking regional with no hope of ever upgrading. With no PIC to speak of and only one type rating in an RJ, I'm not exactly at the top of the pile for an interview at Atlas. A few others from my company have made it to the interview but have ended up swimming while other applicants pass them by.

And, Atlas, just like DAL, does not have a pool anymore....too desperate for pilots.
