Gumbie,
If I thought for a moment, that I would have some impact as a FQS and make this place better I would submit my application tomorrow. However, as I have found out in my four years that FQS are nothing more than brainwashed pilots who have a hard-on for title and a perceived position of authority over the guys that actually do the job at hand, I will burn the application again this year in January. So thank you but no thanks!

What are you talking about Shaggy? Don't be blinded by that Union propaganda. Here's just a few benifits you would have as a FQS.

1- Left seat
2- Home most of the time
3- Fly to exotic places
4- Get PAID!
5- Work for the greatest outfit in the world
6- And the bestest thing of all! Guys like you have to do my bidding!

All in all its quite a satisfying job! Think about it Shaggy.

1- I rather pay my dues and have some credibility when I give a line check to someone.
2- Are you kidding? When you are home, your in the office 12 hours a day doing nothing more than busy work.
3- I do that anyway
4- I am happy with what I make.
5- I do that already (a wise Capt once told me Best job I would ever have, worst people to work for) Completely True
6- I don't do your bidding, you fly the trips I choose not to fly. I like having a schedule two months out than I can count on unlike you that gets a called half hour before show after you have been in the office all day and told to Fly to HKG or your fired!

I have a piece of advice for you, Sign your union card and turn it in if you haven't done it already and urge the rest of your buddies to do the same. If you want my prediction you guys will either be absorbed by us or you will be fired by UPS. When the NMB see's your play book and how all you do is our jobs I am sure they will make you part of the IPA. UPS answer is going if we can't control these guys then why have them around? We could pay a brand new hire 33 dollars an hour to do his job and it will take him 10 years make what these FQS are making from day one, for the same job.

No divorce here, still on on "A" plan.
I was but working at a law firm now doing a lot of litigation support and back going to law school. No worries, I don't live off my dividend checks. I made good money in the past with no alimony or child support issues. Just a wife and two kids who love to cost me more than alimony and child support..

I am a wannabe pilot now that I know you make 300K . Maybe I can get some strings pulled with 700 hrs of fixed wing multi engine experience.

Middle managers at UPS are the turd in a turd sandwich. You think pilots are the ones who get all the flak. Be a low level manager, you get it from the higher ups and the lower downs. If you can keep quiet, do as your told, and do the Rah Rah for some time until you get into a position to make a difference then don't do it. I'm not that kind of person as most here can already tell. I call it as I see it.

How is following the agreed upon contract, including the open time/ja ban, trying to burn the place down? We're just following the agreed upon rules.

The furlough has already lasted too long. It was too long when it started. Bridges, yeah...

As far as the last sentence, I work when scheduled. No more no less.

NO WAIVERS, NO FAVORS, I FLY THE CONTRACT.

DUDE! I worked as a nurse in 3 different hospitals.....many many similarities to UPS management. All they care about is money. The patients are on an assembly line and the nurses and employees get worked to death so I really don't know what you are talking about.
