When will we see the FDX TA??
#21
If the rigs change and we keep the same credit hour value in the lines we will be under staffed even more. When we changed from 1/3.43(7hr/day) to 1/4(6hr/day) in 99 the value of the lines went from about 84CH to 72CH in a four week month.
When and if the rigs change we will prob see the value of the lines increase as well.
Was feeeling no pain and didn't get all the thoughts on the computer screen..

Assuming that the build hours per line per month did not get raised, which I don't think they would have done, then for example a month with two week on week off pairings with the added one day trip filler would probably lose the filler. Yea!, no more calling in sick for that trip when they wouldn't let you drop it. Kills two birds with one stone; no more stupid filler trips and lots less sick calls. ACPs should be happy. I'm not a build wizard, but this is the most noticible change that would occur, so someone will have to fill all those filler trips. Obviously not a huge manning increase, but I'm sure there are many more ripple effects.

You whiny bastards haven't even seen the damn thing yet. It's a bit insulting to the negotiating committee to start ****ing and moaning about it before it's even out. At least wait until there is more than leaks and rumors to complain. "My union speaks for me" shouldn't stop because we have a TA. Let them get it out and 'splain it a bit first, eh?
Not to take anything away from the negotiating committee, but if they put something out with bullet points highlighting the good stuff they got for us all, then there wouldn't be a need for leaks and rumors. The fact that they won't say a dang thing about it makes me think that they are trying to fire up the "spin machine" to sell it....IMHO.
You have to admit, it is a bit strange that we get ZERO info from the NC regarding this TA.

Huck...
When the ups ta was announced, it was put on websites almost immediately with graphs and charts and table that the computer geeks (I mean gurus...lol) put a lot of time preparing. In the days following, as questions were asked, those questions were asked and answered on those sites.
Not sure there is not more basic info forthcoming out of mem (like 380 pay?/block override?) but the devil is all in the details. As our nc ta'd each article, they conducted m&i to clear up any confusion. That way when the deal was finally sealed, the whole package was just about prepared for publication.
Good Luck...next time it's your turn to go first..lol

And the UPS TA was announced late on a weekend as well? As I understand it, the negotiating is done and now the lawyers are in checking all the verbiage. Anyone ever known a lawyer to work quickly? Is efficient one of the words that pops to mind when you think of our legal system?
Spin only works if you don't take the time to read and think about the source documents.
I, for one, am willing to believe that my negotiating committee and MEC want to dot all the t's and cross all the i's before distributing the TA. That the MEC and negotiating committee want to run through the entire process of contract negotiating that they tried to educate the crew force on over the past few years versus simply forwarding the company's comm to every pilot.
Who do you think leaked the pay rates to the WSJ? Who gains from that leak?
I will make a bold prediction. There are going to be parts of this TA that some of my fellow pilots will love, parts that are disappointing, and parts that some people are going to hate with a passion.
For those who are upset that the MEC isn't providing all of the info immediately, I'd suggest reading the FDX MEC policy manual, page 47 is where the TA procedures are ("real page" number is 51 according to acrobat reader).

People like you trip me out. You obviously don't know how the system works.
What if the negotiating committee did what you wanted, then the MEC voted to not submit the TA to mebership vote???
This is Union 101.

Just curious as to how many on here had "retiree healthcare" as one of the 4 cornerstone issues.
I was polled many times and it wasn't high on my list. Furthermore, does anybody have the real results from the multiple page questionairre that we all filled out a couple years back that was supposed to determine the the main emphasis during contract talks?

Step 1. Get TA
Step 2. Read and understand new TA
Step 3. Vote yes or no
So I guess what you are saying is our Negotiating committee ignored the membership????
You make all these asssumptions without even having the document in your hand? Management loves stooges like you.
