FDX MEC Endorses TA

To me this looks like we accepted the bird in the hand assuming that later we would be able to get the birds in the bush. But those birds are going to be long gone when the time comes to get them.
If we accept this we will get nothing later.
If we accept this we will get nothing later.

Deadheading on trains ? You got to be kidding !!!! We will never see airline deadheads within Europe any more and HKG-CAN will all be scheduled on trains for sure.

Deadheading on trains will go into the scheduling computer so that new deadhead routes will appear where none now exists. Think out of the box. How about a train deadhead within India?
If this is a contract extension while awaiting the FAA final rule in sleep/rest, why not just leave things as they are? Yes, we got a few very small bones thrown our way but gawd they are small. What's the down side to not signing on to this TA? What's the down side to management? Who has more to lose?
Negotiating capital is spent via the FDA issues that management wanted. We don't have much left to motivate management to agree to the next TA. A painful pay increase with every 6 month delay in coming to an agreement would serve to encourage management to get a deal done.
From what I've seen, there isn't much down side to saying NO to this TA.

Not only that...But, we lose the next 3% if we decide to open up negotiations in 2012. So, the company wins, either way. The negotiations are either delayed another year, or the company doesn't give us that raise. Am I missing something?
