It is .01%. However, it's a multiplier. So, you add it to the normal 2%/yr, and then multiply that by years of vested service. At 25yrs, it comes out to 2.5%. Or, a $6500 difference, in your $260,000 example. That would be $260,000 X 52.5% vs. 50%.
However, it's vested years of service as of the date of signing. So, in the example above you'd have to be hired in 1981, or earlier. If you were hired in 1990, your multiplier would add up to 1.6%. 16yrs X .01.

16 years X 01%=.0016 or .16% not 1.6%
If you have 25 years at age 58/59 the multiplier is .05%. 25 years X .05%=.0125 or 1.25% not 12.5%.
These numbers do not take into account the multiplier of the current contract.

I stand corrected. I can read, but not multiply and put the decimal in the right spot. Funny, my 13 year old does the same thing. Maybe I should just let him put some answers on this board, too.
