Fact:
Same Pay rates as the 727 for now.

Opinion:
I personally believe all the airplanes should get paid the same rate like UPS does. Move all airplanes up to WB rates. It would alleviate a lot of scheduling and staffing issues.

Yes the 757 at FedEx has the pax entry door and carry's one less can than UPS. I haven't jumped on our 75 yet but I've been on the UPS 75 many times. I almost positive ours will be quieter since our 75 has pax version of pacs. The all glass cockpit does look sweet. Went over and saw it parked next to us in MEM.

Ours aren't that loud though, unless you decide to run both packs.

Huh? Ours on one pack are as loud as any other 75 I've been on with 2 pacs on. In my view we have the noisiest 75s out there... The "good" thing is I'm being told that once my hearing starts to deteriorate eventually the noise will gets less noticeable...

A year or so ago I had a full medical including a thorough hearing test and supposedly my hearing is still ‘perfect’ - I seriously doubt I'll be able to say that in a few years…

Ps. Other than the noise level I do love the 75s...

Are you guys talking about the packs putting out a lot of noise right after takeoff? On our 75s, the packs will stay in high with the power up. If so, cycle the right recirc fan switch. It forces the packs to low and resets them to auto mode.

Only one recirc fan on a UPS 757. The best we can do is turn off one of the packs after selecting VNAV. Our 76's are much more quieter.

So what cools your E&E bay? On every 757 I have ever seen, the left recirc fan also provides ground cooling for the E&E compartment and is a guarded switch. Unless you want to burn up stuff, it should never be touched. What I was talking about, is momentarily turning the right recirc fan off then on, It should reset both packs. At least on our 757s it does.

UPS has a Cargo fire system, a switch on the pedestal , that trips the right pack and slowly depressurizes the aircraft while putting airflow into the cockpit. The ducting is different, this is probably where the noise difference comes from. We have a eqipment cooling fan for the E/E
