"How about the fact that there even was a 77 hr trip with 8 days of C/O in open time."
Yeah, no s##t, that trip fell all the way thru the vto cracks to end up being passed over by everybody else in the open time grab just to land in your lap. Must be your lucky day!!!

What do you guys think of the union sending an email prior to open time release with a subject line that read something like "June Disputed Pairings" and the email only contained disputed pairings. I know they are already in current emails but I'm willing to bet a lot of people ignore messages with the title "Chairmans message" or "positive rate weekly". No it wont stop the guys who flat out dont care but it may help well intentioned people not make an honest mistake...

Why would management want to do that, and what are you willing to give up in negotiations to get them to agree to do that?

How about sending out a monthly email titled "SIG Notes" that outlines the entire scheduling process for the month - to include listing ALL the Disputed Pairings for the month & explaining (in detail) WHY they are disputed?
How about creating a "Textcaster" service that will text their very own particular Base/Aircraft/Seat Disputed Pairings to every individual ALPA member who signs up for it?
oh, wait......we already have both of those......

I might be wrong, but it is not whether the trips are flown, but picked up, by a line pilot that is tracked. The bigger point is our SIG has said a pairing is disputed for whatever reason. If a pilot then calls in fatigued for that reason, do you think it will ever show up again? This company understand one thing very well, it costs them a lot of money when the freight does not move.

Well, I havent been at the company terribly long but this is the first I'm hearing about the text option it and yes I will sign up now. You're correct that its available in the PRW and ALPA web page but I dont go to the webpage very often and I'd be lying to tell you that I read all the PRW bullets...and I'm not alone. The DP info may be posted in multiple places but its in places where you have to remember and seek them out. The text is the only exception and even then you have to take the initiative to go online and submit your info. I'm not foolish enough to think that an extra email or two a month will solve this problem but if it keeps a couple guys from making an honest mistake and all it costs is someone clicking "send" then isnt it worth it? I personally think the idea of having the trips coded with a DP identifier in open time is the best idea but since we cant control that then why not do all that we reasonably can to keep the word out?

The textcaster DP message is sent out the day before the View/Add window opens (so everyone knows what NOT to request). Bonus content if you sign-up for the emails in addition to the text messages-- the email contains the WHYs from the SIG notes for your aircraft/base.
