That's right, everyone should go to SWA as soon as possible. A great career at a company guaranteed never to fall on hard times or take a pay cut or furlough.

Oh wait.

2006 called and it wants its SWA optimism back.

You guys forget to mention that whoever gets the 737s will get free type ratings. That will make them great candidates for getting on at SWA.

That's a joke right? Very funny...

How would you put non-ALPA carriers on the national seniority list?

Congress could pass a law forcing everyone to be a part of it. It is the only fair thing to do.

Dumb question so pardon my ignorance. What variant(s) of the 737 will be operated? Will they be the older (-200, -300) or the newer ones such as the -800's and -900's? Also, will they be sporting the yellow DHL livery or a hybrid one?

SAI's C-130s would look cool in yellow DHL livery.

It will be the -300 and/or the -400. More than likely these will be from USAir East, so they will be non-EFIS too. Maybe L-UAL -300s.

I don't get this "resume booster" that keeps getting thrown around by the MECs at ATI and SAI. Isn't their job to make you want to STAY at the airline for a career..... just sayin'

Yeah, right. Lots of ramifications there buddy. I could see major scr*w jobs for many different groups of people (non skeds mostly!). For one getting a bunch of pilots to agree on anything is like herding cats. Secondarily the majority of pilots vote Republican, so how can they possibly perceive that anything close to a national seniority list is just too pink. Thirdly, do you really think that the government as it is now would ever do anything like this? It is totally dysfunctional as it is!

Finally do you really think that the government cares about pilots? All they care about is warm bodies in seats being paid minimum wage. Safety? The'll just automate it to monkey level, and when it takes a dump will still blame you, give you more training (if your alive) and send you on your merry way. Then they would just spin it to the public!

Maybe your not a cargo pilot and don't remember the cargo carve out on the rest requirements. Not saying that those rest requirements truly fit the cargo environment, but we got squat other than our government telling us that we are expendable. I will never forget that.
