If I was at Southern, not saying. I would want it to pass. Pilots on the street, and good flying.

I'd like to fly a 737 to BWI, MKE, GSO, and other domestic, short haul cities from CVG. Sounds like a very relaxing weekend at home while getting paid.

Don't doubt it for a minute.

ABX mgt was out calling their furloughed folks "just to stay ahead of the game" asking if they would accept a recall as a Capt. on the 737 if it should become available. Of course this is/was a thinly veiled attempt to influence a vote if it were to come to that.

Hope all is well JT8

The problem with this contract (among other things) is that it requires the group to be based in CVG. The economic foundation of our (ATI) and SAI CBA's is "Home basing". The $ figure associated with home basing is anywhere from $20-$30k to the pilots. You take that away and then offer below substandard rates for 737 flying and you might as well be flying for free. The ABX group is based in CVG but they saw it as a total erosion of their CBA and, like us, recognized the "B-Scale" carve out it proposed.

My group voted it down. It never should have been presented as it was shtako. And our furloughed guys saw it too.

The SAI peeps have to vote what they think is best for them. I think they recognise the shtako when they see it but they are have a rough go of it at the moment.

With respect, FAJ

that pay scale is about 20% higher than Xtra's and we have people asking to work here. There will always be pilots willing to work for nothing.

So you would lower the bar and loose home basing just to get a few guys back to work.
We already have some of the furloughed guys catching on and they are saying it is NOT worth it.

It might be relaxing IF you live there but you are not going to have any quality of life. Plan on working two weeks and being on reserve for a third week. QOL is low.

OR....... They have you fly to CVG on fri night/Sat morning and sit until Sun night / Mon night...
So much for the weekend, DHL system has very few full weekends

My buddy their doesn't think they will be getting furlouged if it passes. He also said that they are not guaranteed this contract from DHL if they do accept it as they will have to wait and see.
I guess I don't understand how you will not get furloughed if there will not be an answer from DHL right away. Oh, wait a minute, It's already a done deal right?
It will pass and the destruction will continue to a new low. Congratulations.
