When I see Dr. Dex mentioned in the same sentence as "collaborative" I can't help but laugh.

The Dr./Captain/General in question is now a contract employee. This allows the company the defense of plausible deniability!!! We didn't know what he was doing.

Default Just sayin'

No matter what the issue, mil leave, sick leave, etc, the company is going to push the envelope in all aspects. This is so they can keep staffing as lean as possible. Also it's a matter of control. So when they are called on it due to laws/regs/grievance their response will be, 'sorry, my bad.'

The longer we go without a contract, the angrier I am and the more I forget to give ample notice of upcoming leave. I guess I'll just have to keep calling the DO at the last minute. The crap flows both ways.

How far in advance do they want notice? How long does it take to get it processed so I don't have to call the DO? If I get a last minute scramble how short notice can I give to the DO?

1. How far in advance do they want notice? Ans: As far out as possible. I'm sure they'd like a couple of months notice.

2. How long does it take to get it processed so I don't have to call the DO? Ans: Who knows, and more importantly, who cares?

3. If I get a last minute scramble how short notice can I give to the DO? Ans: 1 minute should be enough, by LAW.
