Yeah, it's all about you. What has SEIU done for you.

More strategic minds might think about adopting a wider view.

The membership of a union/political party is different than a certain leader. I'm unhappy ALPA national supported age 65 retro. the majority of ALPA didn't want to go that direction but the union leadership did. Knowing that I would still be angry if someone blacked out ALPA symbols everywhere. That's offensive.

Yes, corporate democrats fooled their membership (Dr. Gruber stated as much) into supporting a big tax for healthcare. Now most (especially lower income and working) democratic voters are unhappy with it. Politicians are trying desperately to distance themselves from Obamacare because they know they're screwed if they get called out on it in their next election.

But Republicans are doing some dastardly things. Like Corker telling workers at the passat plant that VW would cut some jobs if they voted in a union. This was patently false but Corker has not been held accountable for his union busting efforts.

Some of us knew at the time what was going on some of us were clueless. Some still are. The facts are we are a union of highly compensated employees trying to get a contract from an extremely profitable business. How that relates to SEIUs struggle to sneak as many undocumented democrats across the border is beyond explanation.

You are free to not support Corker for your reasons and I am free not to support Corker for my reasons. I am ok with that, you are not. Who is being divisive? Who is being intolerant? Hell who is being political?

And yes if SEIU wants me to wear their lanyard they better be doing something for me. An example of Capitalism otherwise know as freedom.

In the end this is all about nothing.

SEIU on the lanyard means it was made in the U.S. in a union shop. Period.

As in not made in China.

You guys get wrapped about some serious minutia as the company tramples all over us.

Not sure why I have to spell it out but here you go.

Support from other unions is helpful. ****ing them off not so much.

If that is your idea of spelling it out I can understand why you were fooled by Obamacare.

LAG - I bet you're wondering why Republicans keep losing to Dems in the Presidential election.

Well actually no. In 1967 Uncle Teddy with help from Democrats and Republicans changed our immigration system from one that valued people who had something to offer to one that valued people of diversity. In 1986 Congress and the Reagan administration offered an amnesty in exchange for shutting down the border, 50% isn't bad right? The Democrats and some Republicans didn't like Americans so they made the decision to change Americans (fundamentally change some could say).

Demographics is destiny, but that has nothing to do with why we can't get a contract or how voting democrat will help.

That and the media gives a 10 point edge to the Democrats. In your heart of hearts who is dumber Biden or Palin? Would you know that from media coverage?

Depending what you do with the alphabet, it can still be useless.

When every single IPA line pilot honored Teamsters lines in '97 (management pilots ALL crossed, and DID fly struck goods...making them scabs in many people's alphabet) and gave up two weeks pay, we all accepted the reality that if our time came, we could not expect anywhere near that support...sad? Yes. Antithetical to "unionism"? Yes. But nobody with a brain expected somebody barely making it to perhaps lose their house so I could get a raise. Even my 15 year driver, while gushingly thankful that I honored her line admitted she would have to cross my lines should they ever form.

So go on...pump out your clever bumper sticker alphabet rhetoric, but that's all it is.

Oh...and did YOU openly support Teamsters organizing FDX? If not, then you're even more hypocritical than you already are.
