Plenty of night flying at DAL. Being junior in NYC or DET stinks, no line purity. Dal has PBS thus a choppy sched.

FDX needs pilots NOW and will be hiring many more soon per SCP (ex:vac cnx jan!!!). Get on the front (top) of a hiring wave and ride it. SR, sooner. QOL $ Vac etc much better

VP correspondence 19 Jan 2016 ....(paraphrased) FDX to hire 500 during the next 18 months.

Get on board now. In about 2 years 500+ junior to you. About 5000 pilots at FDX. That's not bad.

Bump-- back on topic

And when you hit the peak of your career at DL flying WB Captain International, you are going to be doing some night flying. And, you get the benefit of having a full cabin crew of some 70 plus FAs that you can hang with on your layover.

Nights are an issue to some, and not to others...The best years of my career were at NWA cargo as a 747 capt. for 12 years. And the worst years have been the 6 years since..My vote for FEDEX,,,,It has a lot more pilots on top pay scales, and isn't farming out all of it's top of the line wide body flying in "Joint Ventures" ....

I always looked at the night flying at FedEx as similar to drinking beer. The more you do it the more you get use to it. What you must realize is that you can't do honey do's all day and then come to work and put in a twelve hour day or longer and be alert and be coherent. Somewhere before you fly a nap is in order.

P.S. Don't drink and fly.

About 10% off. About 4500 pilots at FedEx. But your point about the retirements is still valid.

Until they stick you in hotel standby. The company loves to circumvent R24.
