Atlas Air pilot negotiations

CBA nowhere near imminent
To all those interviewing for Atlas, a new CBA is not around the corner, the interviewers are saying that to get you in the door.
Not even close, so if you're looking at Atlas hoping you'll get in on a new contract, you're probably looking at another 18-24 months, from my assessment of where we stand now.
My suggestion is if you want a new CBA here, wait until we have an AIP, then interview. Before that, coming only helps them delay negotiations.

If the company wins in court, which they likely will, it’ll be more like 10 years before we get an agreement we can actually vote on.

The quality and experience level has gone way down. It is a potential accident waiting to happen.

FYI, as much as management claims they didn't buy Southern just for the Amalgamation they insisted at the last Scope session on the Amalgamation clause remaining in our Scope language. Which begs to question... If it isn't a way for them to stick it to us then why are they insisting on it staying in the contract? If it's that important to them to keep that language then what do you think the odds are that they just buy some other weak 1224 carrier just before the next Arbitrated contract becomes amendable?
I wouldn't bank on anything ever changing at Atlas.

Honestly the best thing that can happen to achieve a new CBA is for those at Southern to actively seek employment elsewhere, same goes for Atlas crews- so that attrition is a good tool. This is about the only thing that management understands, and it's a win win situation. The pilot leaving for one of the big 3, FedEx, UPS etc will earn more over the same course of time, and likely beyond until retirement.
