I think it could, but since everyone is high-fiving over the gains I doubt that we’ll get to find out.

To be fair it is a little more than “ high fiving” , after all in the union email our own negotiations team expressed, and I quote, “ their strong support “ for the agreement.
The TA also garnered the approval of the Eboard, or as you yourself put it “ Atlas let us vote”.

So there is that.

I was just making a point that this is probably going to pass, and I’m not cooking up second offer scenarios in my head. And the “Atlas let us vote” comment was just a little snark aimed at the guys who seemed certain we’d never get to vote because DW had a supposed stronghold on 1224 e-board.

I think DW had to let us vote on it as he had just lost a whole bunch of dues paying union guys from you know where and didn't want to lose another 250 or so from Omni.

I’m not defending DW, but he’s not a dictator. He gets a vote like the rest of the e-board. His vote doesn’t count any more than the rest of the members... this is the point I’m trying to make. I just don’t buy the conspiricy theory. I believe that our negotiators wanted to continue bargaining, but caved under extreme pressure from the pilot group to get this done.

If Omni pilots are smart, they bolt for ALPA just like another carrier just did.

Actually... The President of the Eboard only votes in the case of a tie.

Congratulations to the Omni pilot group. Sounds like you guys secured some impressive gains, from what I’ve heard.

In today's HR environment, with the worsening Pilot Shortage, it doesn't matter how many "gains" you get in a new contract, or how much better it is than the old one. If it is about Industry Standard, then you will do OK. But, if it's substantially below Industry Standard, you will have a very, very difficult time recruiting and retaining pilots, and your aviation organization will shrink.

Allegiant got a 47% increase in Total Compensation, according to their Sr. Mgmt. Initially, it helped with their hiring situation. But, their contract was not Industry Standard, and now they are back to about the same poor hiring situation they were in when they signed their contract, according to their pilots that I talked to. Sun Country may be in a similar situation right now.

Absolutely, just look at how well the ATI pilots are doing!

1224 was ABX only with the highest pay scales in the entire industry for many years and with fewer pilots than Atlas has now. I doubt the loss of a couple smaller groups keeps anyone up at night.
