Saw one Elite's 200s sitting on the ramp in LWB. Has a Shipyard Brewing logo on the tail. Looks cool. Is that a plane you guys fly for them? Or is it just to support local Portland business?

Portland is the Home Office for Elite. Might have something to do with the hometown brewski...

Melbourne (FL) has all the operational offices, maintenance and pilot domicile at MLB.

That 200 is one of Elite's. we had a charter in LWB last week. The company has some advertising relationships with Portland business.

While many of the pilots live in or near MLB, Elite homebases their pilots and FA's.

Good Morning, I just want to get information about the working conditions at Elite, I was thinking about applying. I talked to a couple Elite guys at a FBO and they are telling completely opposite on what's on there. First reading on APC is this true that it is 40,000 start and 50,000 after 3 months? Isn't this charter flying, why are the rates so low for Net Jets kind of flying. Is it true that the raises that are supposed to be given every year but the President changes his mind and doesn't give the pilots the appropriate raise. Also what is the schedule like? Is there an actual schedule or is it based on favoritism? Is crew scheduling on a day to day basis when trips are on the schedule months in advance? Also I have a family so how is the medical benifits? Can it suite me and my family or is half my wages going to be taken out to have my family on it?
Also how does upgrades work? Based on Senority or favoritism of the company? Thank you for your time!

Have you applied, open house next week, to Swift Air? Also, Miami Air, Amerijet, IBC and Via Air.

Good luck.

Are you over at Swift? I heard their fleet is expanding. Still waiting for Elite to get those 757s...

I'm sorry but I have to!

READING IS FUNDAMENTAL

On the Swift Forum, and Pan Ams site on Facebook, the open house Swift HAD, was advertised. Dates, times and place, were all there.

Pan Am has a lot of these. Join there site on the FB. Everts is coming next week I believe. If you're seriously looking for a job the WWW has so much info. The Orange site is great as is this site but you must read all the forums if you want to gauge how the trends are going.

The regionals and charter carriers will be most affected. It's actually good because the terms and conditions are improving-FINALLY. This does not mean use your own price tool to make deals individually. Some are trying this and it's failing. Don't be greedy, it will bite you.

Pick a place you'd be happy at for a career so if you're major of choice never calls, you'd be ok. A lot chase airlines around thinking they'll get to a major quicker. It's not the way it works. Stability, and well rounded resume is what gets noticed. Become a volunteer fireman, if you can. That speaks well of an individual. The military is favored not just because of their training but of the sacrifices they made.

Times have never been better. There are lots of choices and now with home or gateway basings. I never thought that would happen. It really is a biggie. I will never commute again because I don't have to.

So again, pick a place you'd enjoy being comfortable at and join as many sites, forums etc, as you can to get educated.

Apologies, I went off on a bit of a tangent there. I've taken my meds and I'm much better now.
