It’s actually the best advice you’re going to get.

Bonus fact: only one more 74 class scheduled for the year. Also, chances are you’ll be thrown into a class at Southern Air with the classic bait and switch they like to pull. But hey, don’t just take my word for it. Be a sucker.

[QUOTE=LoneStarM1A;2587773]How long to hold JFK on the 747 as FO? As CA? 2.25/18 years

What's the upgrade time on the 747? 3.5 years (ANC)

That 3.5 year 747 upgrade is total bull****. Last year it got down that far but is now rising rapidly! Well over 4 years now and will probably go over 6 years by end of next year.

767 Capts are starting to come back to the 747 and lots of senior FO's have bypassed the 767 and are waiting for the 747.

If you don't like what pilots are saying when they give you an unvarnished assessment of how things are at Atlas, then you really won't like the way that management treats you.

You might want to pick a happier place to work if you are so easily upset.

I just looked at the last seniority list and DOH on the junior 747 captain when I answered the question and it was November 2014. Not trying to pump any sunshine. I suck at math but how is the statement of 3.5 years bull****? I don't really know if it will go up and really don't care because I have little interest in bidding the airplane under the present CBA. Any moron should know that just because the upgrade time is X now doesn't mean that it will still be X when they've been here that long.

And yet all of you, bent on persuading pilots not to join Atlas, are still at Atlas.
Can you see the obvious contradiction ?

So either you can’t get hired anywhere else, or you’re intentionally miss leading potential new hires to favor your own motives.
Both understandable , as long as you admit the advise you’re giving is biased.

Yes we are still at Atlas. But 75% of us are trying to get better jobs! I guess we are not super pilots like you because WE actually have to wait to be offered an interview at somewhere better. We don't have the ability to just wish for a better job and POOF ! It appears. It takes work and time.

No one is misleading new hires. Atlas/Southern sucks. That is why 10-25 pilots leave every month and it amounts to a few hundred who have left over the last several years.

And I notice you have a whopping 3 posts and have just joined APC!

WHAT ARE THE ODDS YOU ARE A MANAGEMENT TROLL? 100%?

Please tell us with all your experience why Atlas is such a good place to work right now!

2 upgrade classes on the 747 in 8 months. 767 seat locks are expiring quickly. Lots of senior FO's bypassed the 767 upgrade are waiting it out for the 747. Word from the training center is no more 747 upgrades until at least fall.

So the days of the under 4 year upgrade are behind us. I am at 3 years and not even close to the 747 upgrade.

Let’s take it one at a time

1- I never said that Atlas was such a good place to work.

2- I am no super pilot. By your own admission “10-25 pilots leave every month and hundreds in the last years” so it must not be that difficult. You are either not trying very hard or you are not very good.

3- Sure I only have 3 posts and just joined APC, but I’m quite certain there was a time you had just joined and had a whopping 3 posts. Were you a management troll then ?
