2- I am no super pilot. By your own admission “10-25 pilots leave every month and hundreds in the last years” so it must not be that difficult. You are either not trying very hard or you are not very good.

3- Sure I only have 3 posts and just joined APC, but I’m quite certain there was a time you had just joined and had a whopping 3 posts. Were you a management troll then ?
If you want to fly for Atlas just do it. Who cares, you're an adult. Don't say you weren't warned. Why do people ask about the job then whine when they don't get the answer they hoped for? I guess you'd rather be lied to and told it's hunky dory.

Yes, there are many stuck at Atlas due to chequered pasts, lack of college degrees, age, or 15+ years of seniority. Do you really want to be like those people? The rest are trying to get out.

My point is that “warning” prospective applicants about Atlas, while continuing to work there, specially under the current hiring climate, sounds at least disingenuous, 15 years seniority or not.

But your point is well taken.

By the way I’m not looking for a job. Let alone a job at Atlas.

Only a complete "------" would post that it is not that difficult to get a with a top tier airline. You do know that thousands and thousands of pilots have applied to UPS, FedEx, Delta etc. etc. It must have been magnificent for you to get your job there instantly. After all, as you said "its not that hard." Please explain to us all how you did it so we can copy your easy instant success.

Nope, but I at least had enough sense to not just jump right in and start posting statements that are complete garbage.

You wrote that you are not looking for a job and especially not Atlas. So please tell us how you are such an expert on Atlas and or even the ACMI industry?

It must be fantastic to be you! You are an Atlas/ACMI expert and you never even worked here!

So who do YOU work for?

Bonus fact: only one more 74 class scheduled for the year. Also, chances are you’ll be thrown into a class at Southern Air with the classic bait and switch they like to pull. But hey, don’t just take my word for it. Be a sucker.
Do you have the start date for that 747 class? What is this bait n switch situation with Southern Air?
Allegiant hasn't called...

So instead of a discussion on the topic you have chosen to make it personal. In just two posts you’ve called me a

-super pilot
-management troll
-complete “.....” (whatever that is I assume it isn’t good)
-trash talker

Good luck to you my friend. With an attitude like that is easy to see why your phone is not ringing.

And if you must know, I’m retired. Don’t work any more. Used to work at one of those “really difficult” places to get hired at.

Come to think of it, I must have been special.

No one is misleading new hires. Atlas/Southern sucks. That is why 10-25 pilots leave every month and it amounts to a few hundred who have left over the last several years.

And I notice you have a whopping 3 posts and have just joined APC!

WHAT ARE THE ODDS YOU ARE A MANAGEMENT TROLL? 100%?

Please tell us with all your experience why Atlas is such a good place to work right now!

Just throwing around random statistics eh? How do you quantify your "75%" of us comment? Where did you get that? LOL.

But seriously, who really cares how many posts a guy has before he makes his observation about those that seem to have disingenuous motives? The reality is that there are numbers of us that are actively leaving for whatever reason and numbers of us that are staying for whatever reason but it is almost impossible to break that down into specific categories, with the exception of mandatory retirements.

There is a political component to contract negotiations and comments made in favor of or against a position is most certainly going to draw criticism especially from those that are perceived to have the most to lose. So if somebody makes a comment against the current trend to drive attrition, as in the case above, why should those that are screaming that "Atlas sucks" and "75% of us are trying to get better jobs" even care if you will eventually will be gone? This is point that the OP was making; It is contradictory to be claiming that one is trying to leave at the earliest possible moment followed by making statements that we won't have a contract for "at least a few years" but I want to make it better for those that remain while I am still here! Pilots generally are not virtuous when it comes to contract talks. We are selfish when it comes to money and our careers. Furthermore, it would seem most certain that if one is trying to "get out fast", it is very feasible to assume that if Allegiant or Omni or Kalitta who by admission here on this thread alone are "better" than Atlas, where it wouldn't take long at all to get hired and probably much sooner than we'd get a contract here at Atlas, especially in this environment, it is safe to assume it is because you have to stay or want to stay. Therefore, you have joined the political hardliners during these negotiations and anyone that is not following in that fight in your opinion is a management troll. That is all that the OP was observing. So why dump on the guy just because he only has 3 posts? It just dilutes your credibility.

I NEVER said that someone trying to leave is not allowed to care, I asked WHY would they. No need for insults. So Mr. mentally challenged, asked and answered. But if we are being technically accurate, I actually did not ask that question. I merely proposed that the OP in a previous post was trying to make that point.

But one thing is for sure, you are certainly reading your teamsters handouts!! Sure, go ahead and throw around a union term with no context. That'll make you sound real smart.

What are you suggesting, that we handed Atlas with a "take it or leave it" pattern agreement? Or perhaps using that strategy we could be susceptible to concessions right? Well, negotiating committee randomperson, that would certainly explain a few things with regard to our position during these negotiations.

That is really funny! Nice one Bungalow. And don't worry about those types on these boards that will attack you for a differing opinion. That is their job! Come to think of it, it is probably our union dues that is paying our union "volunteers" to troll these boards! But back to the point, you supply them with a reasonable question and their answer is always going to be, "you are asking questions, so you must be company man"?

6 posts on APC and they’re all dedicated to an Atlas Air hiring thread by a “retired major airline pilot” who is so fascinated by the hiring status of an airline that 98% of major airline employees have never heard of. Yeah right. No one is buying it.
