That is so sad to hear. I will let UA and C5 management know tomorrow so they can plan accordingly.

Someone needs to get his crystal ball fixed and find some better reliable sources.

United wouldn't have asked for concessions from XJT to match C5 if they didn't want XJT. Think about it. If it TRULY was all based on costs, United would just shut down XJT and grow C5 when needed.

This is what is happening - United is using C5 as a pawn to get XJT to take concessions. Once this occurs, C5 will shut down (as already planned).

Expressjet was dying before covid came along.

Never believe rumors and reliable sources,
But OO's monthly domicile vacancy report shows an additional 15 CRJ captains will be transferred into IAH due to increased flying. If they're transferring instead of just flowing other domiciles schedule through IAH it indicates a long term thing.
However in todays environment long term could mean 3 weeks.

Skywest can add flying without C5 closing their base, which has not even opened yet. The added flying for OO there makes sense because C5 can't do all the flying today that ExpressJet was doing, especially Mexico. There will be lots of flying shifting around over the next few months. Also the number of block hours at UAL will have direct effect on hours available to all of UAX assuming their new TA passes which brings a whole lot of unknowns. These are strange times we live in and normal "rules" don't apply.

United doesn't even know what their own schedules are looking like 3 months out, let alone what regional feed is doing. Marshal is right that flying is going to shift around a TON until there is some sort of concrete stability on the horizon. Until then, expect the unexpected.

C5 is still going to IAH. I was just at the Holiday Inn off JFK Blvd and saw their FA classes studying in the lobby. But, SKW is trying to grow in IAH too. Pairings also increased for Mesa. There is plenty of flying to go around to fill the XJT hole.

It is true. 15 CRJ CA vacancies but 0 CRJ FO vacancies. Reason: There are 62 FO's already in IAH, but 47 CA's so this vacancy evens out the disparity.

I think it might be long term staffing as well and here is why: I have seen us go down the rabbit hole of increases and decreases in flying in IAH a few times now. Every single time, OO has decided to crew the temporary increases via other domiciles. This is the first time they have actually committed to a substantial increase. I don't think we are taking all IAH flying as that is not UAL's typical M-O.

Absolutely correct that the usual rules do not apply and as we have seen before it could be completely invalid logic two hours from now.
