If you lax guys have any issues getting paid out vacation just tell the company you're filing a wage claim with the California department of labor. They tried to take 3 weeks from me. How did I have 3 weeks? Well I had one week involuntarily taken from me the year prior. JS wouldn't even answer the phone or return a voicemail when I tried to call him to ask why he wouldn't at least give me the week from the prior year that was taken. He sent AO to do his dirty work and hid behind AO the entire time.

They might also threaten to mark you as un-rehirible on PRIA. If they do that then call up the POI and make sure they are aware of what Compass is doing. Honestly at this point managment doesn't care as I bet they're winding the place down but don't let them screw you. PRIA is for training issues, not giving less than 2 weeks notice.

Luckily the union dealt with my issue before I took it up with the DOL and FAA but not all guys get it straightened out as easily as I did.

https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/FAQ_Vacation.htm
Under California law, earned vacation time is considered wages, and vacation time is earned, or vests, as labor is performed. For example, if an employee is entitled to two weeks (10 work days) of vacation per year, after six months of work he or she will have earned five days of vacation. Vacation pay accrues (adds up) as it is earned, and cannot be forfeited, even upon termination of employment, regardless of the reason for the termination

Yep. I've also had an issue that they gave me grief over for calling in sick that was protected, specifically, under California *law*. Seriously, they tried to skirt the LAW by saying it wasn't in the contract. The law supercedes the contract! I couldn't believe they pulled that on me. Got an attorney to make it clear they effed up and they backed off real quick. It's a bunch of dirtbag managers pretending to be on your side CP. Stand up for yourself. Know the law and your rights.

I’m a pretty optimistic guy, and i like most of the chiefs, but taking away (or even the threat) of ACCRUED vacation is a new low. Especially if they yanked it from you the year prior to that. My hat will now cover my head in shame.

Ok so I’m leaving here in a month, have vacation time and sick time. Not planning on using it, am a california resident. Should I expect to get it all taken from me? And my 401(k)stuff too?

Regarding your 401k if you are fully vested it’s 100% yours to keep/rollover. Sick time is paid out up to 45 hours. And you will get not only the vacation you haven’t used this year but any vacation time accrued for next year. See previous posts for how to handle any mishandling of what is owed to you. Good luck to you!

Call started with "ok we I'm sure everyone has the same thing on their minds and would like to..."

And then the line got really echoed and no one could figured out why. They tried restarting the call and that failed. After 10 min, everyone had hung up.

People have emailed and asked when an update would be sent out, and were told "we have to make sure the phone lines work".

They had from 9:15am until 5pm when everyone went home to email us and let people know what's going on...and they didn't.

If you're not laughing about how comically incompetent our leadership is, you should be.

That's like something Michael Scott would do.

So now we can't login to myIDTravel? The other day I almost couldn't list because the mobile website wouldn't let me pick an airline......
