So what’s the good word these days? Are you still getting stomped with 85-90 hour lines? Is there any swapping/dropping of trips going on?

Lines are back to a normal 75 hours minimum. Swaps are still weird because the Germans made a terrible airline software platform but scheduling is doing their best. Dropping trips is dependent on the reserve grid and as a reserve pilot I can't speak much to how many green drop days we have. But staffing is good so I'd imagine it's somewhat possible.

I'm betting I get another 95 hour line for March

There’s about 15 new f/o’s waiting for IOE currently. With a couple Seattle IOE training captains leaving the past 2 months and the bad snow last weekend they are having to shuffle IOE around with people deadheading to other bases due to the training captain shortage.

I was in the new hire “welcome” meeting last week and am still awaiting an initial IOE assignment. Looking like it will be about 2 weeks from completion of training to IOE.

This is accurate. Took about a month to do my upgrade OE. It was like 3 day trip, week off, 2 day trip week off. Line check. Good movement but difficult to get everyone scheduled.

If its any consolation, I'm in the next upgrade class and even though the training footprint is relatively short I expect to be in the school house for around 2-3 months. My point is that everyone at every level is effected by training delays

Congrats! Enjoy the left seat! Enjoy the process. The training is short. Took 2 weeks in total but lots of down time between the end and CELL and then OE!

Having recently talked to a couple of former coworkers who took the "safe" option and have been on reserve and sharing a crash pad (with seven other guys) in EWR and logging 30 hours on a GOOD month, I'm not griping a bit about logging 83 hours plus soft time a month.

Not one damn bit. :D

That's great. Hopefully no sim shortages and we will see you on the line in time for the summer rush. With the upgrades we are seeing, we are gonna need you...:)
