I understand that the Compass interview has nothing technical on it. I am just curious as to the logic behind this? It makes sense they want good people so general interview and then perhaps the technical portions are already known / can be studied since have all the ratings etc.

It’s because they don’t want to see how well you can memorize and draw a 172s electrical system. They want to see if you can make good decisions in the cockpit and working well with another crew member. So that’s why the interview is 100% focused on this.

Or airspeeds at which altitude. Makes sense to me and appreciate the forward thinking of it.

Don’t forget the second part of the interview. The “Fog the Mirror” test. Place a mirror directly beneath the nose. If after a few seconds the mirror becomes fogged, the interviewee passes.

Wow, things have gone downhill. Back in my day, you had to fog the mirror to BKN000.
