I understand that the Compass interview has nothing technical on it. I am just curious as to the logic behind this? It makes sense they want good people so general interview and then perhaps the technical portions are already known / can be studied since have all the ratings etc.

It’s because they don’t want to see how well you can memorize and draw a 172s electrical system. They want to see if you can make good decisions in the cockpit and working well with another crew member. So that’s why the interview is 100% focused on this.
