If that is true, when in the world are they going to announce that news? December 31st?

SkyWest isn’t a bad place to work, actually it’s pretty good. Don’t let pride affect your decision making process. Get in, get your longevity pay and get out if you want. Some say SKW people drink the koolaid, maybe we do. However, there’s sure a lot of guys that who drink the SkyHate toxic beverage. Why? OO is clearly doing something right...yes? I know some solid guy at C5, no malice in my heart, nor have I heard any from my peers.

I agree with the previous post. An 8 year Captain at a Hulas airline goes to SW, he starts at 8 year FO pay which is 61 +/- per hour. In a few months to 2 years he will be a captain on 10th year captain pay making 102+/- per hour (someone insert exact scale) but with bonuses and trip rigs and all the other incentives, he will be making 50 to 100% more at OO than he would make at Hulas Air.
The best bonus is that when he or a family member gets sick he won't be fired.

Sucks to be confronted with job loss or backwards movement in this climate but silver lining is that there IS available employment, and the compensation will be in the ballpark (vice $19/hour with no bennies). Many folks in years past had to drive truck... if they had a CDL and were lucky.

If AA backs out of their contract early, they have to pay CPZ for them, AND envoy for them. It’s more logical for them to just not renew it..
Seems like the only thing we can count on around here is Envoy vultures popping up every few months with some new revelation ‘from the top’ about taking LAX. Aa is a cheap airline and it’s MUCH cheaper to leave those 20 jets with us

It came from the top in 2017 too, and 2018.
