I would like to see that in writing. If that is the case I hope they are hiring in 22 months

Akro, I hope you're right. I still carry some caution with my optimism though. Realistically there's nothing we can do about it anyway, so I don't see much point in worrying about it aside from having a "Plan B" just in case.

(and due to the nature of the industry, I've also got a "Plan C" with #D in the works! )

The flight deck is fairly quiet and don't see an issue with noise if that is your worry. I think the most noise I get is from the feedback in the intercom system.... if you and the other guy turn off the hot mike it is very quiet with any headset.

Now trying to go without a headset...that is slightly noisy
A lot of RW guys are using clarity aloft. http://clarityaloft.com/purchase.htm

How do you think the merger will effect you at compass?

Well, I have to admit I am still using the first headset I ever bought before my first Solo! I did have to have it rebuilt about 2 or 3 years ago but it is still working good for me. If it quits on me though I am considering one of the very small headsets as oppose to the larger Bose. Its a good headset, but very expensive and larger.

As far as the merger, I can't affect any of the choices so I am not going to think about it. Just go to work and go home and just see what happens. Right now I honestly can't complain too much my QOL is right up there. Of course getting your choice of schdules does help

Oh I haven't talked to you in a while but we have a lot of our old fellow employees working here now. 3 based in MEM alone with only 16 crews. I guess we need to have some drinks and catch up sometime
