There's been a little change up in the recruiting department. I'm not sure what they're looking for at the moment. Keep updating your resume even if it's small changes in flight hours of volunteering or whatever. In the most recent past they've looked for 4 year degree, decent GPA, recency of flight experience, etc. Hiring has slowed down a little bit but will pick up back up soon as Compass is supposed to get more finalized numbers from Delta as to their remaining 2014 and beginning 2015 block hours and as the flows start back up in Jan. (That come straight from the planning dept in their last couple of emails and vacancy postings)

4 more FOs displaced out of MPS going over to LAX. LAX now stands at 70 FOs. They originally said they wanted 45 FOs over there.

I think the reason they have the numbers so high out in LAX is because they are now realizing they have to do that in order to have enough active bidders each month in LAX. For the month of June for example, there are 25 lines to be awarded and there are only 25 bidders. 20 other pilots that are LAX based are not eligible to bid for June because of training. There are almost 15-20 people at the bottom of the list in LAX every month, that cannot bid because they are in new-hire training. But you are right...they said that most likely, LAX will grow; just waiting to hear back from Delta.

It will be interesting to see if the need arises for an additional west coast base. We already have more weekly departures out of SFO and SEA in June than we did at any point last summer out of LGA. LAX has about 2/3 the number of departures compared to MSP in June. Plus we're adding BOI in August and Dallas Love in October. Apparently we start Monterey and Leon soon, but I haven't seen them on DLNet

Delta will not be doing the Dallas Love flying. They announced a few weeks back that those slots are going to Southwest.

Wrong. The two gates that American had to divest were actually awarded to Virgin America as they are moving ops from DFW to DAL. Dallas Love is not slot controlled. However, Delta is still selling tickets for its increased flying out of DAL but there is no way they will be able to actually operate it all out of one gate. They will either rebook people to DFW, somehow operate it, or refund. The likelihood of them actually operating it is slim. The gate Delta actually uses now is subleased from AA which is going to VX. So, they may not have a gate to operate out of at all.

Hahaha. :D

Yea, so what's up with LAX? It was 35 bidders with 25 getting a line now it's 25 bidders with 25 getting lines still? No reserves? Not too shabby, one month of reserve in MSP then a line in LAX. Got lucky!

I will still be laughing at you because I don't care whether your management finally decides to stand up and announce new flying. I am perfectly happy with what is happening at our airline. We don't need to be vultures like Slywest.
