From what I hear, there are only around 16 new hires in September, 24 in October, and 40 in November. So we are only talking about 80 pilots being hired so far, out of the 400 plus pilots they are going to need to hire over the next 15 months. We are now down to 492 pilots, with 40 more leaving to Delta within the next 1.5 months. Considering the new upgrade time requirement rules and the number of current CFI's we have recently hired, we still have not even interviewed our most junior captain, who would upgrade in late 2015 (assuming you have the 1000 hours upgrade time requirement met).

Are you saying upgrades will be close to 1 year?

Hey thanks for that info! That helps a lot! I interview next week so could I expect to be given a December class? (Assuming the interview goes well)

I would imagine so, but I have no idea to be honest as to what your exact class date would be. Either way, good luck to you.

Hopefully you have come across a good study-guide for the testing portion of the interview. Just make sure you know how to convert mach numbers to airspeed, effect of air temp on mach number, high-altitude aerodynamics (mach tuck etc), all the time speed descent formulas, wind angle trig Rules-of-thumb, calculating time and/or distance and/or radials crossed to VOR's, and a whole bunch more.

Whats the current state of the Compass CPAs? Specifically the Delta side of things. When is it due to expire/be renegotiated?

If I remember correctly from when I was in class it was a 10 year agreement that was signed in 2010 so will expire sometime in 2020, I'm unsure of a specific month.

Okay. So I shouldn't be worried about all that Delta flying going away in the next two years, negating this growth.

Have they figured out where they're getting the sim time for new hires? I think that's going to be the bottleneck of the whole process.
