Do you think Compass will waive this requirement with all the CFI's and non part 121 folks that are being hired?

Hopefully not, I don't think it will be an issue and since you need 1000 SIC anyway to be PIC, the number of people it would add to the upgrade pool would be extremely minimal, the occasional mil guy maybe.

Also in my opinion it is fair to require that experience or more for the PIC position.

even us mil guys have to get 1000 121 SIC......although i could be completely misreading what you are saying and saying the exact same thing

Yea, I kind of wondered about that.

If you came in right at the 750 hour mark and got a 1000 SIC you'd have 1750 and only 250 hours shy of the 2000 requirement. If you flew something single engine, you'd be 500 hours shy.

I'd guess most mil guys have more than 750 hours though, but then again I have no idea.

Think about what you're asking. 1.) Those are very low already compared to others. 2.) There is no turbine requirement from the company. Sooo... If anything they should probably raise them for the people you are asking about.

No kidding. With our low time upgrade requirements and brand new R-ATP pilots with no prior jet time, things could get pretty dicey. I hear that we may be dropping the AQP program as well to free up sim time. I personally feel that all these things combined definitely raise the potential for an accident.

They won't drop AQP.

Anyone heard anything about AA flight benefits? Hopefully management remember that LAX is a commuter heavy base and negotiated this in the deal.

Don't hold your breath for anything beyond what the other non-wholly owned carriers get.

Why would they drop it and completely revert from a system that works and everyone else is trying to implement? And realistically how much shorter is non AQP? Not much. You should have been here when you had to do initial LOEs in BOTH seats, then we can talk about long but that's not the case anymore.
